| I trained at
Dartington and Stourbridge colleges of art. I have been working full-time
as an artist for the past two years since leaving full time teaching.
Flowers and gardens have always been a passion of mine and this exhibition
brings a variety of paintings together for the first time. I love the
changing seasons in the countryside and Spetchley Gardens in the Autumn
is especially awe inspiring. I worked for a long time on leaf studies
based on several visits and some of them are here. The leaves in the 'Gateway'
were hanging just before they fell and their colours looked so beautiful
in the Autumn sunshine!
My parents garden in Devon was the inspiration for 'Sun on Steps' and
my own garden was given more abstract treatment in 'A Spring Garden.'
I love painting flowers at any time of year and have started a project
to paint as many flowers as I can through the seasons.
The small limited edition prints of irises, camellias and daffodils are
the result of some of that work this year.
Angela is able to take on commissions based on the work shopwn in this
exhibition in a colour, style and size chosen by you. |
