In May 2002, Lesley was appointed Assistant Editor of Patchwork and Quilting magazine and has taught design, patchwork and embroidery techniques locally. Although much of her earlier work concentrated in the Cross Stitch market, she has wide ranging creative interests and now publishes designs for disciplines as varies as patchwork, applique, blackwork, hardanger, canwaswork and home crafts. Lesley has been the recipient of a number of prizes for her work in both needlework and patchwork. She draws much of her inspiration for her design work from five main sources - her family, nature, architecture, historical artefacts and ethnic cultures, but readily turns her hand to most subjects.
