Peter Wale

Peter Wale

Peter, born in Worcester is largely a self taught artist. After voluntary retirement from British Telecom, he took painting and woodcarving more seriously. He is a tutor at Bevere Vivis Gallery on the outskirts of Worcester and also runs life painting classes.

Peter is a versatile multi-media painter matching the medium to the subject. His preferred subjects being the figure, portraits, boats, harbours, seascapes, caricatutes and cartoons. He also likes the freedom and interesting effects of semi abstract painting.

His connection with the ballet stems from his time as a pit musician playing for shows.

Amongst his commission works are portraits, churches, Cornish fishing villages and lifeboats as he is a keen supporter of the R.N.L.I.

Val Shaw

Val is a jewellery designer/maker who graduated with distinction from the Jewellery School,Hockley in 2004. Her work is primarily in silver embellished with precious and semi-precious stones. A range of contemporary and traditional necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, tie pins, cuff-links and silver boxes is updated regularly. All her jewellery is assayed and marked for quality.

Val uses good quality materials and gemstones, and hand crafts matching fittings and findings. Providing a piece that meets its intended function is fundamental to her designs, and ensures well-balanced perspective and proportion. Val aims to create something that is timeless, unique, appropriate for the materials used, and, by no means least, desirable.

This exhibition features two new ranges entitled ‘Geo-Deco’ and ‘Satin and Sequins’. Both are ranges of rings, pendants, bracelets, brooches, cuff-links and tie pins/slides in silver and/or gold.

‘Geo-Deco’ is inspired by the symmetric, geometric designs of the Art Deco period, but has been interpreted in more relaxed, contemporary forms. Gemstone cabochons are incorporated to add colour and atmosphere to suit all tastes and outfits.

‘Satin and Sequins’ is an interpretation of fabric construction, drape and flow inspired by the evening gowns worn by Ginger Rogers in the ‘Fred and Ginger’ Hollywood musicals of the 1930s. They are elegantly set with faceted gemstones to give sparkle, glamour and glitz.
