Artist
I’m Helen, from Helen Kate Designs. I create greeting cards for all occasions, as well as art prints, bookmarks, and more. Growing up in the Worcestershire countryside near the Malvern Hills has deeply inspired my work, and nature continues to be a strong influence in everything I do.
With a background in architecture and 19 years of experience in the field, I have a particular passion for drawing buildings—especially local landmarks. I’m also deeply inspired by wildlife and the natural world. My architectural training has given me a deep appreciation for the positive impact of nature and natural elements on our health and wellbeing, which I aim to reflect in my artwork.
Working in pen and ink, watercolour, and acrylic, I create a wide range of pieces—from pet portraits and wildlife art to florals and architectural illustrations. For most pieces, I create both a black-and-white version and a vibrant colour version to suit different tastes and to challenge myself with various techniques and media.
My floral greeting cards are available in “Paint Your Own” versions, particularly in the A–Z and Birth Month ranges. These make wonderful gifts for children or budding artists.
I also take commissions for wedding bouquet illustrations, where I draw on my love for floral details and bold, expressive colour.
My work has been featured in local exhibitions and online charity showcases supporting wildlife conservation. I’ve also been commissioned to illustrate a series of local churches, which I’ve developed into a greeting card range. I’m planning to expand this collection to include more beloved local landmarks.
Currently, I’m working on a new children’s series: an A–Z of animals. I hope to develop it into banners or bunting for nurseries and children’s rooms, as well as a themed greeting card series.

I live near the Malvern Hills with my husband and our dog, Bailey. We love exploring the local countryside with our cameras, capturing the beauty of the natural world around us.
